The following links will take you where you need to go to
either move right to an online application form, or to simply
learn more about who we are and what we're about. This is a
community of clinicians who share a need to find other people
who "get it" about trauma and dissociation. Many people treat
survivors of interpersonal and developmental trauma, abuse,
and neglect, but not everybody has a colleague down the hall
who will notice your excitement about what you're learning,
or be sensitive to your fatigue after listening to the pain
haltingly expressed by a patient.
The ISSTD is a home for clinicians studying
trauma and dissociation. That means that this is a community
that brings its capacity for listening and speaking thoughtfully
to relationships with other clinicians! Nobody ever has enough
friends, even if you are delighted with the ones you have.
Take a good look at the ISSTD. Give us a try. Come to our
meetings. Read our journal. Take a psychotherapy training course.
