Hotel Rooms Poaching Scam Alert!

ANNUAL CONFERENCE HOTEL ROOM SALES SCAM ALERT!

FEBRUARY 13, 2015

Dear ISSTD Members and Friends,

It has come to our attention that several companies inaccurately representing themselves as our "housing vendor" are contacting individuals in the ISSTD community, soliciting business. Specifically, they will offer to make hotel reservations within the ISSTD block on your behalf, or even offer you a discount from the ISSTD group rate of $169.

THIS IS A SCAM called "ROOM POACHING": http://www.conventionindustry.org/StandardsPractices/APEX/roomblocks.aspx

ISSTD has not approved this company or any housing service for the 2015 ISSTD Annual Conference. This is a scam. If you provide your credit card information to any of these unauthorized vendors, your card may be charged but you may not have a reservation when you arrive in Orlando, Florida. If you are contacted by one of these companies, please notify ISSTD immediately by calling 703-610-9037.

Reservations for the 2015 ISSTD Annual Conference should be made directly with the hotel, either by phone or via our web reservation system provided on our Conference Website and as listed below. If you have questions about the hotel, or need to reserve more than 9 rooms, please contact us at info@isst-d.org.

Bottom line, don't every give out your credit card to anyone who calls you offering you assistance with the ISSTD Annual Conference Room Reservation at a reduced rate!

Please note that this is a popular destination and the ISSTD hotel block is filling up. We recommend you reserve a room at your earliest convenience.

Cancellation Policy
All guaranteed room requests require an advance deposit equal to one night’s stay to guarantee arrival after 6:00 p.m. The Hotel shall accept payment in the form of personal check, money order or major credit card with expiration date. Should a guest desire to cancel, their money will be refunded if they notify the Hotel at 72 Hours in advance of arrival.

If you make a reservation within ISSTD’s room block and are NOT registered for The 2015 ISSTD Annual Conference, your reservation will be removed from the block and the discounted room rate will not be applicable. Submitting a registration form for the 2015 ISSTD Annual Conference does not automatically reserve a hotel room.

Thank you very much. We are hoping to stop this poaching and serve all our members and friends appropriately!
