connecting the ISSTD website with other Internet sites
are provided as a courtesy only. ISSTD assumes no responsibility
or liability for such other sites' content, accuracy,
or compliance with applicable laws.
ISSTD
includes selected Self-Help pages on its website because
these sites have information which may be of help to
those who have or who know someone who has dissociative
problems. Chat Rooms, Bulletin Boards, and Lists for
those with Dissociative Disorders often are a major attraction
to these sites because participants can share their own
stories and suggestions. This sort of sharing is very
powerful, similar to a group therapy experience, but
not as protected. ISSTD wants you to know that most chat
rooms, bulletin boards and lists by their nature are
unreviewed and participants may not be as helpful to
one another as one would wish. Research has shown that
the online medium is unusually conducive to deception.
ISSTD thus
reminds you to surf these pages with care. Attend to
your own warning signals and go no further than your
comfort zones readily permit.
If you have
suggestions for other links from this page, or would like
to include a link to our page from yours, please contact
the ISSTD website editor.
