Meeting Frequency:
Once monthly for 9 months, 2.5 hour sessions on Thursday evenings beginning Oct. 12, 2006.

     Utilizing cutting edge clinical      developments and research from this      course you will:

  • Understand the connection between trauma and childhood symptoms
  • Learn how trauma affects the developing brain
  • Recognize dissociative symptoms with current assessment tools
  • Learn techniques to stabilize children/adolescents with dysregulated affect and disturbing behaviors
  • Resolve attachment dilemmas in traumatized children
  • Learn techniques to manage self-injury, trance states, rage reactions, sexual acting out, obsessive-compulsive symptoms
  • Learn how to work with the family system
  • Learn how to interface with schools, health care, and the legal arena.

Licensed mental health professionals treating children and adolescents with trauma histories; limited openings to educators and program supervisors in the field of childhood trauma
