Trauma Across the Lifespan
October 23-24, 2021
We are excited to announce our 2021 Fall Virtual Conference! Join ISSTD for this two-day conference featuring plenary speakers Ana Gomez, Dolores Mosquera, and Kathy Steele. This event will address the impacts of trauma across the lifespan with a mix of 90 minute and 3 hour workshops in addition to our three plenary presentations.
Registration Rates
Registration includes live access to presentations on the days selected and access to recordings from that day as well. CE credits purchased at the time of registration are available for sessions attended live only. Credits for watching recorded sessions may be available after the conference for an additional fee.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received in writing via email or fax. A processing fee of $75 will be charged for cancellations received on or before October 1, 2021 at 5:00pm EDT. No refunds will be issued for no-shows. Refund requests will not be accepted after October 1, 2021. Not all requests will be granted. Substitutions for attendees are accepted at any time.

Grievance Policy
ISSTD is fully committed to conducting all activities in strict conformation with the APA, ASCH, and ASWB grievance procedures.
During a course, instructors will address any concerns that arise. Every effort will be made to address the concerns during the course when possible. If the course instructor(s) are unable to address the participant’s concerns, the complaints and grievances shall be presented in writing to ISSTD Headquarters at cfas@isst-d.org. These will be forwarded on for review by the ISSTD Executive Committee.
Social Workers: Should social workers have a specific grievance, these grievances will be addressed by D. Michael Coy, LICSW. In situations where the social worker would have a conflict of interest, then, Christine Forner, MSW will review the grievance.
ISSTD strives to resolve grievances in a manner that is in the best interest of the participant. All complaints and grievances are reviewed within five working days. Formal grievances are required to be written and emailed as directed above and will be responded to within 15 business days.

Registration Options and Discounts
Registration Categories
Student
Student registration is open to those enrolled in a program of study leading to a degree or certification in the mental health field and who have an interest in trauma and dissociation. Student registration is also open to trainees and interns in the mental health professions who are practicing under supervision. Proof of student status such as a transcript, copy of course registration, or letter from a supervisor for trainees/interns is required.
Emerging Professional
Emerging Professional registration is open mental health professionals who have completed an advanced degree and are in the first three years of their career. The three year timeframe is based on date licensed for clinicians or the date of graduation for researchers.
Professional
Professional registration is open to professionals primarily involved in the provision of services, research, education, scholarship, writing or public policy in an area related to trauma and dissociation. Members who are mental health or health care providers must be either licensed professionals or qualified within the accepted legal or cultural standards for conducting clinical practice in his or her locale.

Emerging Professional members are eligible for a $100 discount off multi-day registration and a $50 discount off one day registration
Group Discounts
Discounts are available to groups of five or more individuals from the same facility, school, or organization.

Plenary Speakers

Dolores Mosquera, Psy is a psychologist and psychotherapist specializing in severe and complex trauma, personality disorders, and dissociation. She is an accredited EMDR Europe Trainer and supervisor. Dolores is the director of the Institute for the Study of Trauma and Personality Disorders (INTRA-TP) in A Coruña, Spain¬—a three-clinic private institution initially founded in 2000. She is a member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Trauma and Dissociation, a member of the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research, and the co-editor of the European Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation´s Newsletter. Dolores has extensive teaching experience leading seminars, workshops, and lectures internationally. She has published 16 books and numerous articles on personality disorders, complex trauma, and dissociation, and is a recognized expert in this field. She received the David Servan-Schreiber award for outstanding contributions to the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Processing) field in 2017, and was made Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation in 2018, for her contributions to the trauma and dissociation field.

Ana M Gómez, MC, LPC is the founder and director of the AGATE Institute in Phoenix, AZ. She is a psychotherapist, author, and an international speaker on the use of EMDR therapy with children and adolescents with complex and developmental trauma as well as generational wounds and dissociation. She has led workshops and keynote presentations around the world. Ana is the author of EMDR Therapy and Adjunct Approaches with Children: Complex Trauma, Attachment and Dissociation and several book chapters and articles on the use of EMDR therapy with children and adolescents. In addition, she is the author of multiple children’s books. Ana has developed numerous intensive training programs and protocols that include the EMDR-Sandtray Protocol and The Systemic, EMDR- Attachment Informed Program to Heal Intergenerational Trauma & Repair the Parent-Child Attachment Bond. Ana is a licensed professional counselor and holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University.

Kathy Steele, MN, CS has been in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia for over three decades. She is also an Adjunct Faculty at Emory University. Kathy is a Fellow and a past President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), and is the recipient of a number of awards for her clinical and published works, including the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award from ISSTD. She has authored numerous publications in the field of trauma and dissociation, including three books. She is sought as a consultant and supervisor, and as an international lecturer on topics related to trauma, dissociation, attachment, and psychotherapy. She holds a Master’s in Nursing from Emory University.

This schedule will give you a full breakdown of the schedule for each day, provide details on each conference presentation and introduce you to our conference speakers. This site can be used to create your individual conference schedule and will be where registered attendees will access presentation materials and conference livestreams.
CE Accreditation Information
Below please find additional information on continuing education credits. All courses are approved for credits unless otherwise noted in the online schedule.
Credits will only be given for sessions attended live online for those that purchase credits. Recorded sessions may be available for continuing education credits at a later date.
Awarding of Certificate of Credit
Continuing education credits are available for an additional fee for this event. To obtain continuing education credits, participants who have purchased credits must attend be in attendance for each session in full, sign in and out of every session, and complete a post-event evaluation. Certificates of Credit are awarded within 30 days of completion of the evaluation for the conference. Participants will be emailed a link to complete evaluations two to three weeks after the conference and will be able to download a pdf of their certificate after all evaluations are complete.
Continuing Education
American Psychological Association
The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
Association of Social Work Boards
The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), #1744, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. ISSTD maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 08/20/2021 – 08/20/2024. Social workers completing this course receive up to 15 continuing education credits for full attendance at both days.
