Conferences and Seminars
Each year, the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) presents a dynamic lineup of in-person conferences, virtual conferences, and immersive virtual seminars, empowering mental health professionals with cutting-edge skills to treat complex trauma and dissociative disorders.
Our flagship Annual Conference unfolds each March or April in a North American city, delivering five days packed with workshops, plenary presentations, panels, symposia, and more! From full and half-day pre-conference workshops to engaging 90-minute and three-hour sessions, plus vibrant networking events, this conference offers an unforgettable experience. We open proposal submissions in July and launch registration in late October or early November. Starting in 2025, we will return to an in-person-only format, with select sessions recorded for future access.
Regional Conferences bring specialized training and networking opportunities to a different North American city every year and to Australia and New Zealand every two to three years. Our Regional Online Community (ROC) contributes input to each event, making each gathering locally impactful and globally relevant.
Every September or October, our two-day Virtual Conference delivers a powerful, theme-based experience. This event typically features two plenary presentations and a range of 90-minute workshops. Proposal submissions for this event open in March or April, and registration starts approximately 90 days before the conference.
In 2023, ISSTD launched Virtual Seminars, which provide deep dives into focused topics within complex trauma and dissociation. Held annually, both one-day and two-day seminars create valuable opportunities for immersive learning in a flexible, virtual format.
